Skilled Worker Visa Holders

Keep the
5-Year ILR
Promise.

You came to the UK legally. You worked hard. You paid your taxes. You were promised settlement in 5 years. The government has strongly indicated it plans to double that to 10 and apply it retrospectively to those already here, particularly those who joined the route between 2022 and 2024.

It has not happened yet. But when it does, we will be ready to challenge it immediately.

Why This Matters
Your rights matter
Changing the terms retrospectively may breach your legitimate expectations under UK law.
Families at stake
Longer separation, more uncertainty, greater cost for something you were already promised.
The real cost is already 10–15 years
Most skilled workers first came as students — 2 to 4 years studying, then 2 to 3 years on a Graduate visa, then 5 years on a Skilled Worker route. That is already 9 to 12 years before settlement. Double the final stage and you are looking at 15 to 20 years — longer than it takes to become a citizen in most countries in the world.
Time is critical
We are building the fund and instructing counsel now so we can file the moment it is confirmed.
Sajjad Hussain

"These people did everything right. They came legally, worked hard, contributed to this country. Changing the terms on them retrospectively is deeply troubling. We are preparing to challenge this in the High Court the moment it is confirmed."
